…a taste experience

The Fichtenhof restaurant in Gfrill near Salurn was founded in 1964 by Josef and Traudl Pardatscher as an inn, when they realized that more and more hikers were exploring the surrounding forests. The original farmhouse is located at about 1,300 meters above sea level in the quiet mountain village of Gfrill.

With the support of all family members, the restaurant developed steadily over the years. With the establishment of the Trudner Horn Nature Park in 1980, the area also gained increasing recognition. The Fichtenhof’s cuisine stands for typical South Tyrolean dishes, homemade and prepared with local ingredients, to be enjoyed surrounded by meadows and forests.

To contribute to climate protection, we use our own resources such as wood from forest maintenance and solar energy, both for cooking with the wood stove and for heating with firewood.

A strong connection to the region has always characterized the family business. The Fichtenhof works with local and environmentally responsible suppliers and producers. This collaboration forms the basis for the quality of the dishes and reflects a responsible approach to nature and animals.

In recognition of the family’s commitment, the restaurant was included in the “Slow Food Osterie d’Italia” guide in 2003. Specialties prepared by chef Ingrid include homemade maltagliati, Schlutzer with ricotta, venison goulash, grey cheese from the Ahrntal, and freshly prepared desserts every day. Particularly noteworthy are the dumplings, which reflect the diversity of South Tyrolean cuisine.

Let’s discover the joy of cooking together. During your stay, I am happy to take the time to prepare typical dishes together with you – also with children – such as dumplings, ravioli, rye bread, buchteln, or apple strudel. You will take home not only recipes but also special memories.

The restaurant is also open to external guests: 12:00 – 14:00 and 19:00 – 21:00.
Closed on Mondays. Reservation recommended.
