Via ferrata climbing is becoming increasingly popular as a leisure activity in the Alps. Compared to traditional alpine climbing, many via ferrata routes are technically less demanding and, depending on their difficulty, can also be tackled independently by experienced hikers.

The Fichtenhof in Gfrill near Salurn is an ideal starting point to reach well-known via ferrata routes in Arco and Riva del Garda within about an hour. These routes are well marked and secured, offering impressive views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

There are also attractive options nearby: within about 1 to 1.5 hours, you can reach the “Rio Secco” via ferrata near Salurn and the well-known Burrone Giovanelli in Mezzocorona. Both routes offer varied climbs and are popular destinations for via ferrata enthusiasts.

Climbing garden – Klippe Garbe

The cliff is located in the southernmost part of South Tyrol, between the villages of Teich and Salurn. On the main road between the two villages there is a junction with a small chapel where you can reach Baita Garbe and park your car. From the parking area a forest road begins, and the climbing wall can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes.
